This is your Board Meeting Brief for the November 1st School Board Meeting.
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Reid Wodicka provided an update on the development of the LCS Facilities Master Plan.
The facilities planning process will also give community members—as well as students, families and staff—the opportunity to provide feedback.
Later in the meeting, the School Board approved the 2023-24 Budget Calendar. Of note, the Board will hold a public budget hearing at 5:00 p.m. on December 13th at the School Administration Building.
The School Board also publicly presented their LCS Board Goals for the year, which are as follows:
- The Board will establish a process for developing a new five-year strategic plan to be adopted in 2024;
- The Board will develop policies that maintain staff and resources;
- The Board will develop consistent communications with all stakeholders; and
- The Board will cultivate collaborative relationships with elected officials.
All goals are intended to contribute to the success of Lynchburg City Schools and its students.
There will be no School Board work session this month, and the next scheduled School Board Meeting is Tuesday, December 6th.
