At Lynchburg City Schools (LCS), the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Emergencies can range from utility disruptions to potential threats, impacting one child, one school, or the entire division. In any situation, our goal is to respond quickly and appropriately while minimizing disruption to instruction.
LCS works closely with local police, fire, emergency services, and health departments to develop and implement comprehensive safety plans. In the event of an emergency, schools may initiate actions such as lockdowns, sheltering in place, evacuations, or early closures depending on the situation.
Parents are urged to stay off campus during emergencies to allow school and emergency personnel to focus on safety protocols. We will keep families informed via phone, text, email updates.
