The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc.’s 27th Annual Classroom Innovation Grants Awards program and reception will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the E.C. Glass High School Cafeteria.  Thirty-eight sponsored Classroom Innovation Grants have been awarded to LCS teachers for innovative programs and projects designed by teachers to enhance the educational environment and better engage their students, and these projects will be on display during the reception.  For example, sponsors, administrators, other guests, and the media will have the chance to see projects that include the exploration of cultural art, hands-on environmental studies, learning through virtual reality, and projects that promote healthy living.

The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc. has awarded more than 658 sponsored Classroom Innovation Grants since initiating the program more than twenty-seven years ago.  More than $884,620 in grant funding since the start of this program has allowed teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement a broad range of creative and innovative ideas into our classrooms and schools.  This year the Foundation funded grants totaling $82,799.52.
