All Heritage High School students need to be registered prior to entering or returning to school. This includes new students, students returning from alternative placements, and students who were dropped for attendance the previous semester and are returning.
Those students/parents/guardians who have custody papers from the court system will be required to provide copies of those documents for our records.
Registration Process:
- Secure an Application for Entrance to Lynchburg City Schools from the Registrar in the Main Office.
- Complete the Registration Packet that includes the Record Release Form. This will allow us to request pertinent information from the student’s previous school.
Provide the Registrar with the following documents:
- Proof of residency (utility bill with guardian’s name & address OR rental agreement OR closing papers of home purchase OR city registration of vehicle)
- Birth certificate
- Transcript of previous coursework and standardized test scores, if available
- Immunization record
Your registration process may be held up if any of the above documents are missing. Please see your counselor.
The counselor will use your previous record to develop a schedule of classes. This process may be detained based on records available at the time of registration.
You will be provided with information about the following:
- Lockers
- Student parking permit
- Textbooks
- Bus Schedule
- Insurance
- Free lunch application
It is important during this process to provide information if your student has received special services in the past through an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 Accommodation Plan. The IEP information is required in order to continue service and obtain a schedule.
