The 13th Annual Senior Honors Recognition program and dinner was held on, May 7, 2017 to recognize thirty of Lynchburg City Schools’ top academic graduates based on their GPA. Fifteen E. C. Glass and fifteen Heritage High School students were honored. Students could invite two family guests as well as a teacher from his/her K-12 educational experience who has had a lasting impact on the student’s life. Also attending were school board members, Foundation trustees, school administrators, and representatives from our sponsoring colleges and universities.
Victoria Bartholomew, a 2007 E. C. Glass graduate, realtor with the Flint Property Group, and active community volunteer who has chosen to return to our community and make Lynchburg her home, provided an amusing but insightful keynote address for our young graduates. From tips on the importance of personal financial responsibility to making new friends, Victoria shared 10 bits of wisdom we all wish we had before heading off to college. Students were individually recognized and received a certificate honoring their success.
