Linkhorne Elementary School third grade teacher Tina McAlexander was surprised with $1,000 dollars worth of supplies for her classroom when the local Office Max selected her as the recipient of “A Day Made Better.”
Mrs. McAlexander was nominated in the spring of 2012 as an outstanding teacher representing LES. Store managers from the Lynchburg area reviewed the nominations from the city and surrounding areas and chose Mrs. McAlexander for the award. They noted how much she cared for her students and that she willing to go above and beyond to make learning accessible and meaningful for all students.
The gifts her classroom received from OfficeMax include a new chair, a digital camera, a laminator and more.
Office Max employees also contributed a box full of school supplies to LES.
