The Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation, Inc.’s Board of Directors recently awarded 30 Classroom Innovation Grants totaling $70,348.20 to Lynchburg City Schools teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. This program provides funds to a wide range of innovative projects and programs. Projects giving students hands on experience with cutting edge technology while bringing math skills into the real world with laser cutting and 3D printing projects, gardening initiatives at several grade levels giving students hands-on experience with ecology and plant science, enhancing collaboration and research skills with podcasting initiatives, and promoting equity by increasing access to stringed instruments, offering hands-on science for English Language Learners, and providing workshops to increase inclusion for high school students were funded by this year’s program. Now in its 30th year, the Classroom Innovation Grant program has awarded $1,128,732.93 since the start of the program.
