Heritage High School student athlete Elijah Gallagher has been selected by the Lynchburg Sports Club as the male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Elijah is ranked No. 8 in the Senior Class at Heritage High School, with a 4.1514 GPA on a 4.0 scale. He was a four-year football player, a four-year indoor track athlete, and a three-year outdoor track athlete. He was First Team All-Seminole District and All-Conference 30 at linebacker and also played receiver. He won the 55-meter hurdles indoors at the Seminole, Conference, and 3A West Regional levels and placed second in the 3A State Meet. His outdoor record over his high school career is equally impressive. He has already been accepted to the University of Virginia and the University of Richmond. “He is going to be highly successful in his adult and professional life, due to the qualities that he has developed over his high school years—determination, dedication, motivation, and perseverance,” said HHS Athletic Director Mark Storm in his nominating letter.
Elijah was recognized during a ceremony in May.
