Lynchburg  City Schools German students are doing great things this year, and it’s getting noticed.

Governor’s German Academy
Heritage High School student Sierra Foster has been selected to attend the prestigious Governor’s German Academy this summer. Acceptance into this program is highly competitive, and only the most outstanding students and faculty are invited to attend. This challenging opportunity helps German students further their proficiency in the language. The academy is held at Washington & Lee University.

National German Honor Society
Five students from German 2 classes have been inducted into the National German Honor Society.

  • Eric Taylor

National German Honor Society members must have completed three semesters of German, must have a high GPA in German and an excellent overall GPA, and they must show high motivation in German classes. The goal of members is promoting the study of German language, literature, and civilization.

3rd Annual German Essay Contest
LCS held its 3rd Annual German essay contest. Winners included students from E. C. Glass, Heritage High, and Paul Laurence Dunbar Middle School for Innovation.
