LCS Students, Staff Get Downtown!

Lynchburg City Schools students and staff members went above and beyond to ensure LCS was well-represented at the 2013 Get Downtown! street festival.

LCS had two booths, including one booth where the newly added elementary Gifted Resource teachers and other staff members had STEM activities, balloon animals and card-making crafts to promote the new “Student Give Me 5” initiative. Several staff members and student volunteers worked eagerly with children, while others engaged the crowd with information about our school division.  

Also, performances by the E. C. Glass Jazz and Rock bands and Dunbar cheerleaders were a hit for the packed streets.
