The Heritage High School Marine Corps JROTC program received a letter and certificate in October designating them a Marine Corps JROTC School of Distinction. The reference provides for the nomination of MCJROTC units to compete for the annual Naval Honor School designation. "School of Distinction" designation is reserved for those units that are extremely competitive and scored above the 80 percent standard for the Naval Honor School.
