Brittany Adams, a senior Marketing student at Heritage High School, placed fifth out of roughly 300 students in the Retail Merchandising event at the International Career Development Conference in April. This was the first time that a student from Central Virginia ever made the stage at the Grand Awards Ceremony.
Each event entailed a 100-question marketing exam and two role-play situations that were presented to a panel of judges.
Six LCS students in all qualified for the international competition, which was held in Salt Lake City, Utah. There were 16,000 marketing students competing from all over the country, Guam, Puerto Rico, Ontario, and Germany.
