Lynchburg is celebrating African American History month. The month is observed nationwide every February. This year’s theme, “Black Women in American Culture and History” honors African American women and how they shaped our nation.
Schools around the city will be holding special assemblies, having door-decorating contests, trivia contests and much more to celebrate this important month and honor the African Americans who have impacted our nation.
