Doug Wickham is Virginia’s Region 2000 Technology Council Educator of the Year. Mr. Wickham is Lynchburg City School’s Network Administrator for Instruction and has worked for the school division for twenty-one years. He regularly champions the use of technology as an instructional tool and continuously works hard to earn grants for the Lynchburg City School Division. In his letter of recommendation to the technology council, Dr. Greg Sullivan, LCS Director of Information Technology writes, “[Mr. Wickham] frequently works with both students and teachers by developing and delivering superior activities and instructional materials for the classroom.”
Most recently, Mr. Wickham, on behalf of Lynchburg City Schools, co-wrote a grant with Roanoke City Schools and received more than one-thousand iPod Touch devices for classrooms across the LCS division. “Doug Wickham continues to champion technology, math, and science learning through his efforts to provide excellent hands-on activities for area students,” says Dr. Sullivan.
Mr. Wickham was honored during Region 2000 Technology Council’s Tenth Annual Awards night. The event was held at the Holiday Inn Select in downtown Lynchburg.
